The Ridge has a number of related projects, all aimed at supporting local people to move from dependency to contribution. The Backlands Garden provides opportunities for volunteering and is also a place where people can come to learn gardening skills, to socialise, to relax and enjoy a beautiful space. The Ridge offers employability and practical skills training including gardening, cooking, masonry and joinery, and people can access crisis support to help overcome specific barriers.
