Keeping Duns Blooming Marvellous

A group of around 30 volunteers, mostly retired, got together five years ago to work, under the umbrella of ‘A Heart for Duns’ (a community-based charity), on a project to improve the public garden areas around the small Berwickshire town of Duns. Over the years, the group has added more and more areas to the project, and currently plants and maintains 14 beds, 9 planters, 8 small troughs, 3 boxes and 2 small wildflower areas at the local industrial estate. The group aims to improve wellbeing, create a community spirit and benefit local shops by encouraging visitors to the shops and services.
