Climate strikes

The world is in climate chaos and it is estimated that there are less than 12 years left to limit the worst impacts of climate change.

The Scottish Government has declared a Climate Emergency. We acknowledge this emergency and are fully committed to supporting the call for urgent action. We admire the passion shown by young people about climate change and support peaceful, local #ClimateStrike action, who are following the global call from Greta Thunberg to strike from school. These young people have come together to deliver one of the most naturally evolving movements of this era – a #FridaysforFuture #ClimateStrike

It is time now for us all to step up and show we are committed to taking action.

The first global #ClimateStrike for all is scheduled to take place on Friday 20 September 2019, with a second strike taking place one week later on 27 September.

We are supporting the #ClimateStrike, and where possible, we will be attending strikes or taking part in other activities to raise awareness and understanding about climate change.
