Climate Emergency Training for Scotland's Tourism Sector
Free training to help Scotland’s tourism sector become Carbon Literate and secure a Green Recovery from Covid-19.
This accredited Climate Emergency Training provided an opportunity for staff working in Scotland’s Tourism sector to understand the climate emergency and respond to the risks, opportunities and responsibilities ahead. Learners gained knowledge of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities and identified actions to tackle them on their journey to becoming certified as Carbon Literate.
Having a Carbon Literate workforce is vital to help the tourism sector to meet new regulations and customer expectations that a net-zero Scotland will bring. Businesses with a Carbon Literate workforce will find they can develop more efficient and cost-effective operations. And participants found the training helped them to take effective action on climate change and develop their skills and experience.
The training is was offered in February and March 2022 as part of a suite of support provided with Skills Development Scotland and Green Tourism through the Scottish Government’s Tourism Recovery Fund.
We developed the bespoke online Climate Emergency Training to help staff in Scotland’s tourism sector develop skills and knowledge so they can take action to secure a Green Recovery from Covid-19 and be a successful part of a low carbon Scotland.
