CCF Reports

We are pleased to share learning and reflection from the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund (CCF).

CCF Report 2019

This report summarises the activity, outcomes and learning from the CCF for the financial year April 2018 – March 2019.

Over the year, 110 communities across 27 of Scotland’s 32 local authorities were CCF funded to help them take local-level action to support the transition to a low carbon future for Scotland.

We hope that the inspiration and learning from these 110 projects will be of value to community leaders, politicians, organisations and practitioners who are looking for effective local solutions to tackle climate change. The report should also be useful for policy makers who have the challenge of developing strategies and policies to encourage widespread behaviour change across Scotland.

CCF Report 2020

This report summarises the activity, outcomes and learning from CCF projects operating during the financial year April 2019 – March 2020.

Over the year, 86 projects were CCF funded across 25 local authorities, to help reduce local carbon emissions. 59 development grants were awarded to help community-led organisations develop a climate action project.

In addition to analysing carbon savings and project outcomes, the report illustrates approaches to talking about climate change and provides further case studies focussed on long-term behaviour change and legacy.

Many CCF projects tell us personal stories from those positively impacted by their activities, and we are delighted to share a variety of inspiring examples in the report.

We hope the learning from this report proves useful to any community in Scotland which wants to take local action on climate change.

CCF Review

We were delighted to have Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform, Roseanna Cunningham provide a keynote address at the 2019 CCF Gathering. The event took place at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh on 6 November.

In her speech Ms Cunningham referenced findings from the review of the CCF which was carried out by the Scottish Government earlier this year.
