Cove in Bloom

The group works to improve and enhance the area of Cove & Altens, aiming to make this an attractive and enjoyable place to live. The three historical industries are farming, fishing, based in the old fishing village; and quarrying. In addition to the floral enhancements, they’ve added various displays to commemorate these industries, horse drawn ploughs and other implements for farming, heritage stones for quarrying, and a sculpture based around Isie Caie, who was the last fishwife in Cove, for the fishing industry. Further, they remember their recent heritage with oil industry ornaments on Cove Road.
