Beechgrove Garden Broadcast

On 9th July 2020, our Pop Up Pocket Gardens featured on one of BBC 2's favourite programmes Beechgrove Garden.

The item featured gardens designed and grown by children from Helensburgh, Stirling and Broughty Ferry.  Pupils did a great job of presenting as well as gardening. The item begins at 11 minutes into the programme and you can watch it again here.

We're also delighted to feature some videos made by pupils to showcase their gardens and talk about their ideas.

Special thanks to BBC 2 and everyone at Beechgrove Garden for sharing these brilliant designs.

Aboyne Primary School

Grace Walker, a P3/4 pupil at Aboyne Primary School, gives us a tour of her garden.  Followed by class teacher Marianne Brooks who presents the finished Pocket Garden designed by the whole class.

Grove Academy

In this video, Ruth de Villiers from Grove Academy tells us all about how she built her garden and shows us the beach where she originally found the pallet.

Gargunnock Primary School

This Pop Up Pocket Garden was created by Rachael McPhee from Gargunnock Primary School.   Rachael created a basket full of plants for people and for wildlife, along with a miniature pond.  She has also built a bug hotel for minibeasts to call home, made from pinecones, sticks and pieces of slate.
