Primary Schools

Climate Ready Classrooms for Primary Schools is a one-day course that provides upper primary pupils with three workshops and a series of activities that support learning about climate change and biodiversity within the Curriculum for Excellence, and a focus on solutions, actions and hope.

The course is offered via local authorities and delivered online to several schools from the same local authority at once, aiming at facilitating connections between schools and a focus on local challenges and solutions.

This course aims to support pupils to:

  • Develop an understanding of the basics of what climate change is and why it is happening.
  • Improve understanding of the importance of biodiversity and how all species are connected and interdependent.
  • Explore thoughts and worries around the climate change and biodiversity crises and why we should have hope.
  • Identify opportunities to take action to tackle the climate change and biodiversity crises within local authority aims.

The three workshops cover:

  • Climate Change
  • Biodiversity
  • Hope and taking action.

If you would like your local authority to offer this course to your school, please contact your local authority directly and register your interest here
