Stephen joined us as Project Manager of canal college Highlands in May 2019.
Before joining us Stephen worked with Scottish Waterways Trust for eight years as a heritage officer and project manager where he delivered a wide range of outcomes in the outdoors for groups, individuals and communities. Stephen’s career started with the National Trust for Scotland where he worked as a ranger, senior ranger, property and finally countryside manager in different parts of Scotland over 20 years. His background is based in natural heritage but always inclusive of people. Over the past decade this has found Stephen developing ways of working that provide mutual benefits for people and the rest of nature and like John Muir he believes that “going out is really going in”.
Stephen has an MSc in Heritage Interpretation management and practice.
