Sophie joined Keep Scotland Beautiful in January 2022 as Policy and Research Officer (maternity leave cover) where she will be working across a wide range of projects.
Before joining us, Sophie worked as a graduate teaching assistant, and in various positions in policy and administration, alongside conducting her PhD research. Sophie’s research examined opportunities for agricultural education within Curriculum for Excellence.
Holding a first-class BSc in Environmental Stewardship from the University of Glasgow, MSc Environmental Policy and Governance from the University of Stirling, Sophie recently completed a PhD Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Glasgow. She is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Sophie has always felt connected to the land and has a keen interest in sustainable food and farming. Growing her own food and consuming locally grown and reared produce is important to Sophie. She loves getting outdoors, and is Club Secretary of Stirling Rowing Club, regularly training on and enjoying the sights the River Forth has to offer.
