Rebecca joined Keep Scotland Beautiful in 2019 to work on the Upstream Battle campaign which focuses on marine litters journey from source to sea, as 80% of marine litter starts life on land. It takes an innovative approach to tackling marine litter by acting inland and working with communities who have the power to prevent litter from ending up in our waterways and seas.
Before joining us, she worked in community engagement and nature conservation for a range of organisations including the Clyde Marine Planning Partnership and Butterfly Conservation. She is also a freelance artist and has experience running events and projects to connect people with nature in creative ways.
Rebecca has an MSc in Marine Resource Management from Heriot Watt University (The International Centre for Island Technology – ICIT – Orkney) and a BSc in Marine and Freshwater Biology from the University of Glasgow.
