Nik Turner has been working with Keep Scotland Beautiful since 2015. She joined as the lead officer on Clean Up Scotland and has since developed our work on single use items, particularly focusing on the litter and waste associated with single use drinks containers. She represents us on the Scottish Government’s Marine Litter Strategy and Steering Group and is passionate about changing perceptions of waste.
Nik supports a number of our community projects and has expertise in the Place Standard, having designed and written resources to support NHS Health Scotland’s development of the Place Standard tool.
Nik is also a member of the 2050 Climate Group’s policy team, advising on a wide range of sustainability issues. Before coming to work with us, she worked as a community engagement officer with The Conservation Volunteers and The Scottish Wildlife Trust on the Cumbernauld Living Landscape project.
She has an MSc in Outdoor Education from The University of Edinburgh and a BA in Philosophy and Psychology from Newcastle University.
