Joe Oxley-Glenister
Education and Learning Officer (Upstream Battle)

Joe joined Keep Scotland Beautiful in March 2022 as Education and Learning Officer for Upstream Battle, our campaign to reduce source to sea marine litter. He is responsible for developing resources and providing training to teachers and educators in using STEM learning to engage young people in the topics of wildlife and marine conservation.

Before joining us, Joe worked as an outdoor and environmental educator for a range of organisations across the UK, including wildlife conservation charities, field studies centres and outdoor activity centres. Joe has pioneered a number of initiatives in his 10 years of delivering environmental education, including the design and funding of a 0.7ha wetland biodiversity study site and creating a Climate and Sustainability Awareness training course for Outdoor Education providers in Scotland.

He is an advocate for the use of outdoor learning experiences for nurturing learning and development of young people, as such Joe utilises his experience and enthusiasm for environmental and outdoor education in voluntary roles as a Scout Leader and Sea Champion.
