Alistair joined Keep Scotland Beautiful in July 2017 and provides support to our community projects team.
Alistair first worked as an apprentice with British Telecom qualifying as an electrical and electronics engineer. He then had a career as a police officer. He worked in several roles in the police, including as a duty officer at the Scottish Criminal Records Office providing specialist ICT support to users of the Criminal History System and the Police National Computer. He has worked in both rural and urban stations and as a custody officer before returning to road policing. As a road policing supervisor, he was responsible for road safety campaigns, engineering and educational inputs. He also had responsibility for the mobile data systems in the road policing fleet. He is an experienced collision investigator and road policing senior investigating officer.
He attended Kingsway Technical College in Dundee for telecommunications related qualifications and Aberdeen University where he obtained standard and advanced city and guild certificates in collision investigation. He has also attended numerous internal courses at the Scottish Police College.
Alistair has volunteered as the chairperson of his local community centre management committee. He continues to volunteer on led cycle events in his local area.
