Alex is a Development Officer with Keep Scotland Beautiful, and his role involves expanding our Green Key and National Award for Environmental Excellence programmes. He currently supports the training of auditors for the Green Key award, increasing our capability to celebrate sustainability and environmentally friendly practices in the tourism sector.
Prior to joining Keep Scotland Beautiful Alex took part in volunteering to support biodiversity. He has also worked in environmental services abroad, where he promoted integrated pest management and increased participation in parks projects through public outreach. He has worked on a variety of projects tackling invasive species including tracking mosquito-borne disease in Texas, USA, and the impact of Grey Squirrels across Britain.
Alex holds a MSc in Conservation Science and Policy from the University of Exeter. His degree involved research to predict the impact of Ash Dieback disease. He has a passion for protecting native woodlands.
