Alastair leads our Climate Challenge Fund team, which has enabled over 1,000 Scottish Community Groups to tackle climate-change through reducing local carbon emissions. He also leads our teams running award programmes that encourage and recognise excellent environmental standards in Scotland’s parks, beaches and communities.

Alastair joined Keep Scotland Beautiful as Operations Manager in December 2018. He has lived in Scotland, Nepal and Africa and has worked in environment, community development and education roles in the commercial, charitable and faith-based sectors.

Alastair has a first-class honours degree in agriculture, forestry and the rural economy from Edinburgh University as well as a Masters degree from Oxford University and a Diploma from the Open University. He’s a member of ACOSVO and the Scottish Leadership Exchange and in his spare time enjoys wild camping, hills, cutting firewood and any excuse to be outside.
