Alan joined Keep Scotland Beautiful in 2016 and brings experience to the group from having supported Transition Linlithgow in their previous successful applications to the CCF.
Prior to this he was self-employed in various roles after a long corporate career with computer manufacturer, Sun Microsystems, where he worked in the IT and Engineering departments. His last post there was as Test and Manufacturing Engineering Manager supporting a department of engineers.
In his spare time, he is improving the energy efficiency of his own 1920’s home, installing internal insulation, fitting solar panels and learning to apply permaculture techniques in his garden.
He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Paisley University and has volunteered with Transition Linlithgow, since its inception in 2008, and with Transition Scotland which is a new developing regional hub for the international Transition Network.
