Smoking litter

The ‘However you disguise it, it’s still litter’ campaign used camouflage and leopard print wrapped cigarette butts to highlight that cigarette butts are seen as litter, and people caught dropping them could be fined. The campaign was launched in Glasgow at the annual Local Environmental Quality Network conference.

Posters and stickers were provided to local authorities, a taxi was wrapped to promote the message across Glasgow in the weeks following the launch, bus back advertising was taken out and stickers were displayed in pubs and club toilets across Scotland inviting revellers to text to be request a free portable ashtray.

A total of 10,000 portable ashtrays were distributed to people across Scotland during the campaign.
