Keep Our Roads Litter Free
Advertising space was taken on bus backs to ensure that a wide audience saw the strong campaign image and messages. Posters were distributed to local authorities, road operators and service stations across Scotland. Car window stickers were also taken to events, sent to local authorities for distribution and displayed by high profile tour operators across Scotland. In addition 1,000s of car air fresheners were issued to taxi companies, road haulage companies and members of the public to remind them to keep Scotland tidy. VisitScotland also provided car litter bags in tourist outlets and hire cars to encourage drivers to dispose of their car litter responsibly.
In the same year ScotRail requested that support them to adapt the message to display in Scottish railway stations and trains. A suite of posters were produced using the same graphic.
Richard Lochhead MSP relaunched the campaign imagery with an updated message at Harthill Services in 2010 with support from Zero Waste Scotland and other Transport Litter Group members.
