Keep Scotland Beautiful is the charity that campaigns, acts and educates on a range of local, national and global environmental issues to change behaviour and improve the quality of people’s lives and the places they care for.
We are seeking an Education Development Officer to develop and implement our Carbon Literacy Ambassadors Initiative to secondary schools across Scotland. In particular, this post will work with teachers and young people within secondary schools to develop and improve understanding of sustainable development and climate change.
Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with teachers and young people across a range of contexts as well as having a detailed understanding of education policy and practice (particularly Curriculum for Excellence and Learning for Sustainability). Additionally, you will also bring an understanding of climate change science and current policy to the role. You will be experienced in providing training and facilitating to a range of audiences both face to face and through on-line platforms. The ability to develop education-related resources together with project management skills and evidence of implementing sustainable education initiatives also important.
