Keep Scotland Beautiful is the charity that campaigns, acts and educates on a range of local, national and global environmental issues to change behaviour and improve the quality of people’s lives and the places they care for.
We are seeking an Education Development Officer to join our Education & Learning team to develop, promote and implement our Young Reporters Scotland and Upstream Battle Education initiatives across Scotland. This post will also support participating schools to engage with the Eco-Schools Scotland programme, other Education & Learning team projects and where appropriate wider Keep Scotland Beautiful projects.
Ideally you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with teachers and young people across a range of contexts as well as having a detailed understanding of education policy and practice (particularly Curriculum for Excellence and Learning for Sustainability). Additionally, you will be experienced in developing and delivering media focused education initiatives, managing and developing sustainable development education initiatives and have an understanding in the role of sustainable development and climate change organisations across Scotland. The ability to develop networks and positive working relationships across various sectors together with experience of international education initiatives and global citizenship programmes is also important.
