Climate change pledge
Community groups across the country are invited to sign up to Scotland’s Climate Change Pledge for Communities to express their support and commitment to taking local action on climate change.
The pledge links grass-roots, community activities into the bigger picture - contributing towards Scotland’s ambitious targets to cut greenhouse gasses and developing our collective resilience for the future.
About the pledge
The pledge is for organisations, not individuals and in taking the pledge your community group will be acknowledging:
- The increasing impact that climate change will have on your community, across Scotland and internationally and that you’ll commit to tackling the causes and effect of a changing climate within your local area.
You’ll also be pledging to:
- Take active steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions wherever possible, collectively and individually
- Tell people what you are doing and why you are doing it
- Explore other actions you can take to address climate change and your resilience to it
Once you've take the pledge online your organisation will be posted an A3 Pledge Certificate, which a member of your board or committee should sign.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org a photo of members of your organisation with your signed Pledge and we'll include it in our new pledge photo library.
