We currently have a number of opportunities for Volunteer Assessors who provide a vital link between us and the communities that are taking action to attain the recognition of an It’s Your Neighbourhood Award.

We are responsible for managing and administrating a campaign in Scotland called It’s Your Neighbourhood. This campaign aims to encourage groups to clean up and green up their local area, whether that is the street where they live, a derelict space on their estate or the grounds around the local community centre. We currently have a number of opportunities for Volunteer Assessors, who provide a vital link between us and the communities that are taking action to attain the recognition of an It’s Your Neighbourhood Award. With support and training from us Volunteer Assessors are responsible for supporting the assessment process, by visiting and encouraging groups participating in the campaign.

Applications are sought from volunteers who want to support our aim to make Scotland clean and green, today and tomorrow. Ideally, our volunteers will have previous experience of working with community groups, an interest in gardening and be able to communicate effectively to support and encourage participants.

In 2017, volunteers are asked to commit to attend a day of training in Stirling (5 April) and to undertake between four and eight assessment visits between June and September. Some local travel will be involved.
