LHEES and regulation of district heating consultation invitation

The Scottish Government Directorate for Energy & Climate Change in association with the Scottish Heat Network Partnership (HNP) Practitioner Group has extended the invitation to attend a public consultation workshop event discussing proposals set out in the Consultation on Heat & Energy Efficiency Strategies, and Regulation of District Heating.

The same workshop is being held in two locations, Edinburgh and Inverness, to enable as many participants as possible to attend. To ensure as many organisations as possible can attend, the number of places available to each organisation may be limited. Both workshops will be the same. You only need to attend one event.

This is a high level policy scoping consultation that seeks views and further evidence on a broad scenario for district heating regulation and local heat & energy efficiency strategies. Your views are invited on the role that regulation could play in both:

  • The strategic planning at local level of heat decarbonisation and energy efficiency programmes within the new Scotland’s Energy Efficiency Programme (SEEP), which is due to begin from 2018 onwards, and
  • Supporting the development of district heating in Scotland

These events are an opportunity for interested parties in Scotland to discuss the implications and opportunities presented by these policy developments. We would like to hear your views and give you an opportunity to inform Scottish Government proposals.

Please contact Margaret.Tingey@ed.ac.uk if you have any questions about either the Edinburgh or Inverness event.
