We sponsor CEMVO Environment Award
The third CEMVO Scotland Ethnic Minority Impact Awards take place at the Marriot Hotel in Glasgow on Saturday 12 November. Building on the success of previous years, the CEMVO Scotland Ethnic Minority Impact Awards will recognise, reward and celebrate individuals and organisations that really make a difference to the lives of people in Scotland.
We have been delighted to have supported the awards since they commenced in 2014, when Score Scotland were the winners of the Environment category that we sponsored. Score Scotland were the first organisation in Edinburgh to sign Scotland’s Climate Change Pledge for Communities and have been awarded grants from the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund to run the Green Futures project. The project offers help for members of Black and Ethnic Minority communities in West Edinburgh to reduce their carbon emissions through advice on home energy efficiency, sustainable travel and how to grow food at home.
We have been very pleased to work with CEMVO Scotland to engage over 100 Ethnic Minority communities to tackle climate change through our management of the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund. Our work, with the support of CEMVO, has included assistance for Ethnic Minority community-led organisations applying for Climate Challenge Fund grants, the Ethnic Minority Peer to Peer Climate Network and a series of climate change workshops.
Watch out for our feature on the Environment Award winner next week and follow our live Tweeting from the event on the evening of 12 November.
