Celebrate with the Chinese Climate Change Project

Chinese New Year event in Glasgow to feature climate change theme.

The Chinese New Year celebrations put on by the Chinese Community Development Partnership at Maryhill Community Central Halls on 29 January, will incorporate a climate change theme as part of their Climate Change project. The event is open to all.

The Chinese Climate Change Project offers the Chinese community of Glasgow advice on how to improve home energy efficiency to reduce energy use, bills, fuel poverty and carbon emissions. The project was awarded a grant through the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund is run by the Chinese Community Development Partnership. Further activities to reduce local carbon emissions are focused on sustainable travel and reducing waste.

Attendees to the New Year celebrations will be able to learn more about the support offered through the Chinese Climate Change Project as well as taking part in a number of fun activities, including making cake with zero waste and having a go at powering a smoothy making bike.
