Successful meeting of park managers

Green Flag Award park managers from across Scotland gathered in our Stirling office on 10 November to review the year and discuss future opportunities.

Park managers from across Scotland gathered in our Stirling office on 10 November to discuss the Green Flag Award.

Representatives from 10 managing authorities were in attendance and heard presentations from our guest speakers, Buglife and Central Scotland Green Network Trust. Delegates also heard about Strathaven Park being named in the UK Top 10 of the People’s Choice Award, discussed management plans and the application process for next year.

The Green Flag Award is the benchmark of a quality park or green space and is applicable for a variety of managed green spaces including town parks and play spaces, country parks and cemeteries. A total of 70 parks achieved the award this year. The winning parks are run by local authorities, universities and community groups.
