Successful meeting of beach managers

Beach managers from across Scotland met at the Beacon Leisure Centre in Fife on 16 November to review the 2016 Beach Awards and discuss future opportunities.

Representatives from over 30 of Scotland’s awarded beaches were in attendance to discuss the 2016 Beach Awards and progress for future awards. Delegates also heard presentations from guest speakers, Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), FIDRA and Scottish Marine Animal Stranding Scheme (SMASS).

The day was rounded off by a site visit to Burntisland beach.

Scotland's Beach Awards are the benchmark for quality beaches which are well managed and enjoyed by people across Scotland. A total of 60 beaches were awarded this year.
