Online Climate Emergency Training - book now and get Carbon Literate

12 January 2022

Our next online Climate Emergency Training takes place in March. It is eight hours of learning and takes place over four weeks. Each week involves an hour-long interactive online session led by our expert trainers, followed by self-study tasks to be completed before the next session.

Whatever we think of the outcomes of the United Nations Climate Change Conference that recently took place in Glasgow, it’s clear we all need to re-double our efforts to tackle climate change. This course will help anyone interested in increasing their knowledge and understanding of the Climate Emergency and actions which will have a positive impact.

The course explores the science and impacts of climate change and highlights practical steps to cut carbon emissions. In addition to the global context, we utilise content relevant to Scotland. And we cut through the jargon, so learners have a clear understanding of terms like ‘global warming’, ‘climate change’, ‘net zero’ and ‘carbon footprint’. Climate impacts can seem overwhelming, so this training emphasises hope over despair and includes information on co-benefits of action on climate change.

For the final course assessment participants are asked to select both an individual and a group action to reduce carbon emissions, demonstrating their learning and understanding of carbon emission sources and solutions. Successful participants will receive their Carbon Literate accreditation – valuable for both personal CV’s, and for organisations in terms of having a Carbon Literate workforce.

The next course starts on 9 March, with the four live sessions weekly at 2pm.

Book via Eventbrite.
