ECCI Event: Low Carbon Enterprise and Innovation Showcase

The Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (ECCI) will host its first Low Carbon Enterprise and Innovation Showcase in Edinburgh in January 2012. The Showcase provides an opportunity for over 40 Scottish low carbon businesses and entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative low carbon business, product or service and network with the most influential investors, serial-entrepreneurs and industry partners from across Scotland and Europe. The ECCI will be hosting further events in January on the theme of low carbon entrepreneurship and investment.

1. Enterprise & Innovation Showcase, 6-9pm January 11th 2012
The Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation launches its inaugural Low Carbon Enterprise and Innovation Showcase at the Informatics Forum, University of Edinburgh on the evening of the 11th January 2012. This is a unique opportunity for Scottish Low Carbon businesses and entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative low carbon business, product or service and network with the most influential investors, serial-entrepreneurs and industry partners from across Scotland and Europe. With a keynote welcome from Stewart Stevenson MSP, Minister for Environment and Climate Change. For investors and industry leaders, this is an opportunity to see 40+ innovative low-carbon companies in one place, in one evening. Only limited exhibitor and guest places are available. 2. Low Carbon Entrepreneurship and Investment 2 Day Workshop, Jan 11th and 12th 2012
Timed to coincide with the Showcase, ‘Low Carbon Entrepreneurship and Investment’ is a two-day world-class executive education programme with thought leaders from MIT and Harvard, and UK perspectives from Andy Kerr, ECCC Executive Director; Jim McColl OBE, Chairman and Founder Clyde Blowers Capital; Paul Lewis, Managing Director Operations - Sectors and Commercialisation at Scottish Enterprise plus other investors and entrepreneurs. 3. Entrepreneurial Inbound Marketing: 11th January, 2012. 10am-2pm
Delivered by Bill Aulet, Managing Director of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center, also featuring input from Maz Nadjm, Director of Social Media at TSL Education and former head of Social Media at Ogilvy (UK) and Sky (UK). Full details of this workshop are online at inboundmarketing.eventbrite.com/

4. The Open Innovation Imperative: 12th January, 2012. 9.30am-2pm
Delivered by Kenneth P. Morse, serial-entrepreneur and a leader in global high tech sales and sales management for over 35 years, and founding managing director of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center. Since 2006 Morse has taught Corporate Entrepreneurship and Open Innovation in partnership with Professor Henry Chesbrough, Executive Director of the Center for Open Innovation, Berkeley, California. Ken is also a member of The US National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship established by Secretary Locke in 2010.
