Environmental awards given for keeping Scotland tidy

The winners of the prestigious national Scottish People and Places awards were presented with their trophies on Wednesday 24th February, at a conference dinner in The Macdonald Marine Hotel, North Berwick, by Provost of East Lothian, Councillor Sheena Richardson and John Summers OBE, Chief Executive of Keep Scotland Beautiful.
The People and Places award ceremony and conference dinner is the highlight of a two-day event run by Keep Scotland Beautiful, which this year focused on reducing anti-social behaviour for a safer, cleaner and greener Scotland.
The four award winners and finalists were:
Programme of the Year Award
Winner – Renfrewshire Council
Finalists – Amey, East Dunbartonshire Council
Programme Manager of the Year Award
Winner – Brendan Corish, Amey
Award for Support of Communities
Winner – Falkirk Council
Finalist – Perth & Kinross Council
Best Local Environmental Quality Innovation Award
Winner – Stirling Council
Finalist – Falkirk Council
John Summers OBE, Chief Executive of Keep Scotland Beautiful, said: “The award winners and finalists are all very deserving of this national recognition and I was very impressed with the range of excellent projects the finalists submitted.
