ScotRail Biodiversity Fund

*Application for the 2016/2017 Biodiversity Fund is now closed. Applicants will be informed of the success of their application in January 2017*

On behalf of ScotRail, Keep Scotland Beautiful manage the ScotRail Biodiversity Fund for Adopt a Station volunteers. Awards range from £100 to £5,000 to support and encourage biodiversity projects in Scotland's stations. Funding is awarded to community groups whose applications show a dedication to ecosystem restoration, biodiversity planting and conserving wildlife in Scotland in and around their chosen station.

As our stations become greener, they become a reminder for local residents all over Scotland to consider energy use, carbon footprint and waste. Over time, we hope that the stations will become powerful case studies for biodiversity impact and community investment.

The Adopt a Station programme attracts people from all walks of life from business to charities, clubs, schools and dedicated individuals helping to improve the appearance of stations through various activities including gardening and litter picking. Adopting a station is a great way of meeting people and developing a sense of community ownership.
