In 2017, Gardening Scotland ran from 2-4 June at The Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh.
Visitors to the Living Garden chatted with forum members to find out more about each organisation, explored how to garden for nature through the Living Garden's centrepiece show garden, and attended one of the exciting and informative workshops that ran throughout each day.
For the second year running, in 2017 the Forum was delighted to work with Keep Scotland Beautiful to offer a 'One Planet Picnic pocket garden' competition which was also part of the Year of History Heritage and Archaeology. Young people aged 3-18 from across Scotland were asked to design a colourful and exciting pallet sized garden using plants that could be eaten and attracted biodiversity, and reused materials which would otherwise have been thrown away.
The full report from the 2017 event is available to download below, and includes photos of the winning gardens being created and a list of workshops. Visit the One Planet Picnic pocket garden web page to find out more and to read their stories.
