Community Projects

Keep Scotland Beautiful is the charity that provides advice, support and training to others to achieve clean and safe local environments and to change behaviour. It’s part of our work to make Scotland clean, green and more sustainable.


We work with a wide range of individuals, groups and organisations across Scotland. Our activities range from projects encouraging biodiversity, to promoting sustainable food growing and care of gardens. Our aim is to help communities re-engage with Scotland’s environment and to improve local environmental quality.

The Champions for the Environment campaign supports volunteers to get involved with and organise activities in their communities.
Young Reporters Scotland is part of an international initiative which empowers and encourages young people report on environmental concerns.
Our biodiversity campaign encourages and enables communities, groups, organisations, individuals (or anyone interested) to plant for pollinators, and to encourage biodiversity.
The Garden for Life Forum is a partnership of organisations which informs amateur gardeners on how to support biodiversity through gardening.
Keep Scotland Beautiful and ScotRail are working together on the ScotRail Adopt-a-Station programme to encourage people to encourage biodiversity in adopted stations.
The Tasty Spaces campaign encourages community groups and organisations to grow sustainable food in unused, innovative and unconventional spaces.
