Several years ago, Francesca Saunders got so fed up of seeing litter spoil our cities, towns and countryside that she set up an initiative in the hope of reducing, if not eliminating the amount of litter we sadly have to live with.
It is called People Against Litter, or PAL for short.
All that you have to do to become a PAL is to be prepared to pick up at least one piece of litter per week (more if one wishes but that is up to the individual) and then hopefully "recruit" another who in turn asks someone else and so on. If you would like to make it a bigger event, we have FREE year round clean up kits - to order, visit Clean Up Kit.
To date there are over 800 PALs, and Francesca would like to see that number grow. She said: "the success of this initiative is entirely dependent on numbers increasing and the simple fact is that the more PALs there are, the less litter there is. It is not area specific, as all PALs are able to do this regardless of where they live or are visiting. In a nutshell, that's it. I do of course understand that the long-term answer is to stop people from littering in the first place, but that's another story.................!
Visit People Against Litter to join Francesca in her fight against litter now!
