George joined Keep Scotland Beautiful in 2003. He leads our work with the Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN), as well as other sustainable development and climate change initiatives.
He is currently managing work on mandatory climate change reporting for Scotland’s public sector bodies, supporting public sector engagement with climate change policy, and promoting good practice on low carbon behaviour change.
George led the development of Scotland’s Climate Change Declaration, launched in 2007, and has managed programmes on ecological and carbon footprinting, and sustainable public procurement. He has also participated in the development of a range of national initiatives including Adaptation Scotland and Scotland’s Environment Web.
Before joining us George was Trade Campaign Manager with Oxfam GB where he had a lead role on fair trade campaigns, represented Oxfam on the Board of the Ethical Trading Initiative, and developed the Cut the Cost Campaign on access to essential medicines.
