David joined Keep Scotland Beautiful in 2001. Since 2008 he has managed the Climate Challenge Fund; a Scottish Government grant programme that we manage and administer to support communities take climate action across Scotland.
He leads on the development of resources, training and events as well as overseeing the team which has supported the Grant Panel to award grants totalling £75.7 million to community led projects to reduce local carbon emissions, improve their local areas and help them adapt to the impacts of climate change.
Prior to this role, he spent seven years working with Scottish community groups and local authorities as kerbside recycling was introduced. David supported the development of the Waste Aware Scotland communication campaigns to encourage householders to reduce, reuse and recycle their waste.
David has a Civil and Environmental Engineering Degree from The University of Edinburgh. He represents us on a number of Stop Climate Chaos Scotland working groups.
