As the price of scrap metal fell the number of abandoned vehicles recorded in Scotland started to rise. In 2006 we launched a campaign to raise awareness of the risks of abandoning vehicles and to provide people with alternative solutions. The aim was to reduce numbers of vehicles being left to rot by encouraging people to contact ‘Car Take Back’, to arrange free uplift of the vehicle.
Posters, billboards and a travelling exhibition display which was toured libraries across Scotland were produced. Fifth Gear presenter Quentin Wilson provided the voice over for a radio advert which ran across many of Scotland’s regional radio stations.
